What better than a group of drug addled hippies to start off this blog, eh?

I suppose a good initial post would be a brief introduction, followed by what I hope to accomplish with this blog.

I am a grumpy old man, in my sixties.  I'm overweight, have mild hypertension, have had my appendix removed, and my vas deferens snipped.  I'm still working at an I.T. job, supporting grumpy old COBOL applications, but I think my days doing so are numbered, as I just don't have the concentration skills that the job requires anymore, and to be honest, I'm burnt out from working with shitty, brittle old code.

Which brings me to the purpose of this blog.  Other than a place to bitch about the inherent unfairness of life, I'm hoping to earn some money with affiliate marketing, which will offset my eventual loss of income from I.T. work.  (If you have a problem with affiliate links, then you're a wanker and you should just leave!)

I'm gonna try out various methods of making money online promoted by various folks on YouTube, and let y'all know how that works out for me.

Other than that ...... I had a cruddy day at work, (again!), and it's raining right now, so I'm gonna cheer myself up by watching some porn!

My Humble Opinion on "Black Lives Matter"

So what's an ignorant, old, grumpy, white man 's opinion of this recent " Black Lives Matter " movement? To begin with, I'm not comfortable with ANY organization that separates people based on, well, anything other than behavior or gender.  (Yes, I'm reactionary enough to believe in only two genders !)  Physical traits, (excepting gender, of course), is absolutely the WORST criteria by which to judge people.   Lump me in with all the folks who proclaim that " ALL Lives Matter ". As for the BLM movement itself, I have serious misgivings with many of their " beliefs ", particularly this one quoted directly from their website : "We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable." Driveway Improvements!

Working on the Road Yesterday folks here got tired of my bitching-and-moaning about the horrid condition of the access road and driveway here, so Sweetie paid for some gravel to be delivered, and the neighborhood guys pitched in to help spread it over the muddy ruts. If you remember the prior post, ( A Very Wet Dry Season ), when it rains our driveway turns into a gross mess.  Well, I am very pleased to report that the driveway has been improved, at least temporarily: Our New and Improved Driveway I don't know what will happen to this gravel once the torrential rains of true Wet Season start, but at least this is a much needed temporary improvement.  (I even helped spread some of the gravel across the driveway!) Long term I'd like to put a cement path/patio outside the kitchen door, and cement paths to both the front door and the dreaded outdoor CR, (or at least stepping stones), but I understand that progress here must be incremental.
